Finnegan has sired 10 litters as of October 2009, some of them for service dog organizations.

Four of his offspring — Keara, Kaelen, Kaylee, and Lamara — have been selected as breeders by Canine Companions for Independence and Guide Dogs for the Blind, an honor indeed as these esteemed organizations only select the best of the best in health and temperament. Lavette is now a working Guide Dog, and other Finn pups are close to graduation, in advanced training, or with puppy raisers.

Many of his other pups are currently training in the field, obedience, flyball, and agility — among other fun activities!

Finn is reproducing his sound, balanced structure; substantial bone; correct coat; unfading pigment; lovely head; strong breed type; athleticism and enthusiasm; trainability and problem-solving skills; excellent nose; good drive and natural retrieve instinct; cheerful confidence; and extremely affectionate nature.

Current Breeding: Finn x Merry. Finn bred OTCH Northwood Merry Moonsprite UDX2 OM1 RE TDX ASCA-TD(2) in early July, and if we are lucky enough to get puppies they will be smart smart smart. Merry is a second generation Obedience Trial Champion with amazing focus. We expect good-looking, compact, agile, athletic puppies with strong pigment, correct coats, good balance and toplines — extremely trainable in multiple venues. They should also have excellent field potential with Bart as their grandfather. And with Merry and Finnegan both being TDX dogs, Merry’s dam Sprite a CT and Finn’s sire Yogi just earning his Champion Tracker at age 11 (both on first attempts)  – these pups should be super trackers! One thing is for certain: they are sure to be “cuddle bugs” like their parents!

UPDATE: Merry whelped 7 pups, 5F & 2M on September 13th!  All are thriving, as is Momma Merry.  Here is the litter pedigree.

The Kiss

Current Breeding: Scurry, Sandpoint Coast Two Coast NA NAJ FDCH-G has come back to us for a repeat breeding August 13 – 16. Her singleton Fling!, born a year ago, is an well-balanced, agile, dynamic, promising girl, and we hope for more pups just like her. Scurry has a lovely structure and an endearing temperament, both of which she passed on to her daughter. She is a tennis ball/flyball fanatic  –  up for any activity! If we are lucky enough to get pups they will be due mid-October. The breeder will be looking for excellent performance, show, and companion homes.

UPDATE: Scurry had 4 pups on Oct. 13 delivered via C section– 3 males and 1 female! All are nursing vigorously and Mama Scurry is doing a great job. I’ll post photos soon!

Current Litter: Finn  x Bella. Finnegan bred Flaxen Fields Bella the first week of May 2009. Bella is a lovely Tyler daughter with lots of bone, beautiful head, correct lush coat, and a substantial, balanced structure. She also has an ideal golden temperament with a great sense of humor! On July 7th, Bella whelped 4 healthy and beautiful puppies — 1 female and 3 males. Dam and pups are all doing well! All the pups have now gone to excellent show/working (given priority) and companion homes.

Past Breeding: Finn x Cara. C-Vu’s Caravelle SH WC CCA was bred to Finn in the last week in May 2009. We hope for lovely, talented, substantial pups with lush correctly textured coats, excellent bone, and sweet, biddable temperaments — enthusiastic retrievers! — some destined for working/show homes, particularly dual purpose.

JUNE UPDATE: We are sorry to report that Cara is not pregnant. We will try again next season!
